It is common for parents to express concerns to physicians or educators about their child’s learning struggles only to hear “Let’s wait” or “They just need more time to catch up”.  Research supports the importance of early intervention and not a “wait and see” approach.   School districts have a legal obligation to find, identify and serve eligible children with disabilities from ages 3 to 21.  This presentation will provide a detailed explanation of the testing referral process, the school’s timelines and responsibility in the process, and tips for parents to push the process along.
