The Monarch School and Institute provides an innovative therapeutic education for students with neurological differences. The school was founded on providing a holistic education focusing on four core goals of self-awareness&self-regulation,executive functioning, relationship development, and academic competence.  These four core goals were worked on throughout the various programs based on a developmental level system.  In the beginning the school was begun as a small laboratory school but over the years has developed into a multi-faceted institute.  In order to stay innovative the actual practices related to this 4 core goal scope and leveled sequence have evolved through research and applied experience.  However, there are core practices that have been crystallized as best practices for our model of  therapeutic education.  These practices are being further developed to be scaffold-ed across our level system.  Part of our mission is not only to develop a model therapeutic school  but also to share these practices with the larger community.  Many of these practices can be modified and generalized to other school settings.
